Mission

The mission of the FNI Neuroscience Research Center is to examine therapies, including pharmacological and cell based therapies, for the treatment of neurological diseases, disorders and injuries.

Basic Research

Researchers at FNI labs in Saginaw and Mt. Pleasant continue to make advances in their work to find treatments for neurological disease.  As part of our five-year research plan, FNI researchers have made significant progress in the development of more efficient ways of producing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as a potential treatment for brain disease and injury such as Huntington's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and ischemic stroke.

Volunteers

FNI appreciates and relies on volunteers to help with research projects and other areas.  We have had an overwhelming response to our summer volunteer program for working in our Laboratory for Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience.

As such, we are now taking applications for this coming summer.  Although one of our major goals is to provide students with first-rate research opportunities, we are also dedicated to producing high quality research, and so we are looking for volunteers who will commit their time and energy to this cause.

Please fill out an application and fax to 989-497-3119 or email to panchanan.maiti@ascension.org.  Thank you for your interest in our program.
