FNI engages in research projects that advance the boundaries of knowledge in the neurosciences. FNI and St. Mary's of Michigan not only treat neurological problems but are on the forefront of discovering new ways to treat them.
Clinical Research
FNI and St. Mary's of Michigan staff participate in clinical trials for new medications, treatments and devices as well as helping to discover new ways to manage and treat neurological disorders.
Active clinical research studies
Dr. Barbara Jahnke and the Clinical Research Department at FNI are now screening patients with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. Doctor David Wiersema and Daniel Duffy along with the Clinical Research Department at FNI are now screening patients with foot drop as a result of a stroke for possible participation in the InStride study. This research study is evaluating the use of the WalkAide device. Potential participants must be on Medicare or be Medicare eligible. Basic Research
The mission of the FNI Neuroscience Research Center is to examine therapies, including pharmacological and cell based therapies, for the treatment of neurological diseases, disorders and injuries.
